KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 2 — Prime Minister and PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today alleged Lee Chean Chung had been an absentee leader, failing to attend meetings or even the party congress “for over a year”.
He read that as a sign Lee is uninterested in PKR or its struggle, and that the former Petaling Jaya MP had quit for “sometime”.
Lee announced his resignation as Petaling Jaya MP this morning, a move that followed a three year suspension for insubordination.
“He resigned for sometime already only now he’s announcing it?” Anwar said to reporters after performing Friday prayers at the Royal Malaysian Air Force mosque at Sungai Besi here.
