Evening haze: Unhealthy air quality in five areas nationwide, Johor accounts for four and Sarawak one

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 27 — Five areas, four in Johor and one in Sarawak, recorded Air Pollutant Index (API) readings at an unhealthy level as of 4pm today.

According to data from the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS), the areas in Johor recording unhealthy API readings were Pasir Gudang (161), Kota Tinggi (159), Pengerang (158), and Larkin (152).

Meanwhile, in Sarawak, only Serian recorded an unhealthy API reading, at 141.

A total of 51 areas, including Kuala Lumpur, recorded readings at a moderate level, while 12 areas recorded good readings.

API readings between 0 and 50 are categorised as good, 51 to 100 as moderate, 101 to 200 as unhealthy, 201 to 300 as very unhealthy, and 301 and above as hazardous. — Bernama
