KUALA TERENGGANU, Sept 6 — Chief Justice Tun Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh topped the list of 128 recipients of the Terengganu state honours and medals in conjunction with the 64th birthday celebration of the Sultan of Terengganu, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin.
The Regent of Terengganu, Tengku Muhammad Ismail Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin, graced the investiture ceremony held at the Balairong Seri of Istana Syarqiyyah here.
Also in attendance were his younger siblings, Tengku Seri Setia Mahkota Raja Tengku Datuk Seri Muhammad Muaz; Tengku Puteri Utama Raja Tengku Nadhirah Zahrah; and Tengku Puteri Daulath Raja Tengku Fatimatuz Zahra’.
Also present were Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar and members of the state government leadership.
Wan Ahmad Farid was conferred the Darjah Kebesaran Seri Setia Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Terengganu (S.S.M.Z), which carries the title Datuk Seri.
Also receiving the S.S.M.Z were Qatar Ambassador to Malaysia Datuk Seri Salah Mohammed Al-Sorour; Chief of Air Force General Tan Sri Muhamad Norazlan Aris; and Terengganu Equestrian Association deputy president Tan Sri Abdullah Taib.
Tengku Muhammad Ismail also conferred the Darjah Kebesaran Datuk Setia Sultan Mizan Abidin Terengganu (D.S.M.Z), which carries the title Datuk, on Federal Court Judge Datuk Che Mohd Ruzima Ghazali and CelcomDigi Berhad board adviser and former chief executive officer Datuk Mohamad Idham Nawawi.
Also receiving the D.S.M.Z were executive chairman of Mirmas Holding Sdn Bhd, Datuk Awalan Abdul Aziz and managing partner of Messrs Feroz@Co Datuk Feroz A S Moidunny.
In addition, 27 recipients were conferred the Darjah Kebesaran Datuk Paduka Mahkota Terengganu (D.PMT), which also carries the title Datuk, including renowned actor Datuk Abdul Manan Embong, better known as Eman Manan, and Terengganu Tourism, Culture, Environment and Climate Change Committee chairman Datuk Razali Idris.
Also receiving the same award were Dungun Member of Parliament Datuk Wan Hassan Mohd Ramli; Universiti Malaysia Terengganu vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Mohd Zamri Ibrahim; and Terengganu police chief Datuk Mohd Khairi Khairudin.
Tengku Muhammad Ismail also conferred the Darjah Kebesaran Setia Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Terengganu (S.M.Z) on 17 recipients, including Terengganu Information, Dakwah and Syariah Empowerment Committee chairman Muhammad Khalil Abdul Hadi.
At the ceremony, 17 recipients were awarded the Darjah Kebesaran Setia Mahkota Terengganu; 20 received the Darjah Kebesaran Ahli Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Terengganu; and 39 individuals were awarded the Darjah Kebesaran Ahli Mahkota Terengganu. — Bernama
