KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 2 — A former Lembaga Tabung Haji chief operating officer is expected to be charged at the Shah Alam Sessions Court tomorrow.
The Star reported that a court e‑filing entry lists Datuk Adi Azuan Abdul Ghani as scheduled to appear before Sessions Court judge Awang Kerisnada Awang Mahmud at 9am on September 3.
The Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on Tabung Haji previously identified Adi Azuan among five senior officers subjected to disciplinary proceedings, noting that an initial proposal to dismiss four of them was later revised to demotions.
The Malaysian Anti‑Corruption Commission (MACC) has opened 14 investigation papers following the RCI’s findings on mismanagement at the agency.
MACC said it has arrested 17 individuals to date, with 10 suspects remanded as part of the ongoing probe.
The arrests include a former Tabung Haji investment director, the director of Putrajaya Perdana, the former director of Putra Perdana Construction, the former Tabung Haji chairman, the chief executive officer of Alam Maritim and a former federal minister.
