PUTRAJAYA, Aug 31 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and members of the Cabinet today joined thousands of Malaysians in celebrating the 69th National Day at Dataran Putrajaya, here.
Anwar, who is also Finance Minister, and his wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail arrived at the royal stage at 7.53am as the Hormat Perdana song was played.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi arrived at Dataran Putrajaya at 7.45am.
Also present were Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil, who is also chairman of the main committee for the 2026 National Day and Malaysia Day (HKHM) celebrations, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin and other Cabinet ministers.
Deputy ministers, dignitaries and foreign delegates were also among those attending the 69th National Day celebrations, themed “Malaysia Madani: Kesejahteraan Dinikmati”.
The event will feature 10,819 participants from 76 contingents and 22 marching bands, alongside 11 decorated cars, 328 land, sea and air assets, 112 working animals and 22 electric vehicle (EV) assets. — Bernama
