NILAI, Aug 30 — A woman lost RM2,900 when her three‑year‑old daughter’s gold necklace was snatched while they were strolling at a food festival in N9 Arena here last night.
According to Berita Harian (BH), Nilai district police chief Superintendent Johari Yahya said the incident occurred at about 9.30pm when the girl told her mother her necklace was gone.
He said the 29‑year‑old woman lodged a police report at about 10.30pm, explaining that she had gone to the festival with her two children earlier that evening. While walking through the crowd, her three‑year‑old suddenly complained that her necklace had been pulled off.
Johari said the mother immediately checked and realised the gold chain was missing.
He told BH that the woman asked her daughter if she had seen or recognised the suspect, but the child only said it was a man.
Johari noted that the victim could not provide further details given her young age. The loss was estimated at RM2,900 and the case is being investigated under Section 392 of the Penal Code.
