KULAI, Aug 28 — Johor Pakatan Harapan (PH) has agreed to appoint Stulang state assemblyman Andrew Chen Kah Eng as Johor’s Leader of the Balancing Force (Ketua Pengimbang).
Johor DAP chairman Teo Nie Ching said the appointment had been agreed by all three PH component parties: DAP, PKR and Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah).
“DAP proposed Andrew Chen Kah Eng as the Opposition Leader, or Leader of the Balancing Force, in Johor, and the proposal was accepted by our partners from PKR and Amanah,” she told reporters after the Safe Internet Campaign Community Carnival at Hutan Bandar Putra here today.
Andrew also held the position during the previous Johor state government’s 2022-2026 term, before the state assembly was dissolved on June 1.
In the 16th Johor state election held on July 11, Barisan Nasional formed the new state government after winning 48 seats, while PH secured eight. — Bernama
