PETALING JAYA, Aug 11 — Police today confirmed that a 14-year-old female student was arrested after allegedly injuring a classmate with a sharp object at a secondary school in Shah Alam.
Shah Alam police chief Assistant Commissioner Sarudin Samah said the suspect had brought a kerambit and injured a male classmate with it at around 11.42am on August 5.
“An arrest was subsequently made and the case is currently under investigation,” he said, confirming that a police report had been lodged.
Sarudin said the victim sustained minor injuries to the arm, adding that no motive had been established for the incident.
He added that the victim was in stable condition, while the suspect had been released on police bail.
The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt using dangerous weapons or means.
