PUTRAJAYA, June 8 — Pakatan Harapan (PH) secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail today said the coalition has finalised the allocation of all 56 state seats for the upcoming Johor state election following discussions at its secretariat meeting.

Saifuddin Nasution explained that the decision still requires formal endorsement from the PH presidential council, as his role is limited to managing and facilitating seat negotiations.

“The meeting finalised the allocation of 56 seats to be contested by the component parties of PH.

“However, as a matter of procedure, the decision must be presented to the presidential council, as I only chair the secretariat that oversees the seat negotiations,” he told reporters after the Home Ministry’s monthly assembly here today.

He added that only a small number of overlapping claims had arisen during discussions, similar to previous negotiations in Negeri Sembilan, and these had already been resolved.

Saifuddin Nasution said the next step is to present the agreement to the PH presidential council, chaired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, for formal approval.

“The next step is to obtain formal endorsement from the PH presidential council, which is chaired by the prime minister.

“I will present the outcome of the negotiations, and only then will the status be considered final,” he added.
