MELAKA, May 9 — The Communications Ministry will channel allocations to the National Information Dissemination Centre (Nadi) and the Madani Community to carry out targeted outreach programmes for traders at the Melaka Historic City Council (MBMB) Central Market in Bachang here.

Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said his visit today found that many traders had requested classes on online sales, as well as assistance with applications for the Madani Subsidy Assistance Programme (BUDI) Individual for diesel.

“For small traders, some may not know how to apply for BUDI Individual. This is among the areas that need to be strengthened, including through the Madani Community.

“Entrepreneurship is one of the five main pillars at Nadi, including online sales, so we have asked Nadi to provide basic training for the traders here,” he told reporters when attending the Jiwa@Komuniti Madani Programme: Sembang Santai Parlimen Hang Tuah Jaya at the market.

Also present were Communications Ministry deputy secretary-general (Strategic Communications and Creative Industry) Nik Kamaruzaman Nik Husin and Information Department director-general Julina Johan.

At the programme, Fahmi spent more than two hours engaging with traders at food stalls, as well as those selling wet and dry goods. — Bernama
