KUALA LUMPUR, May 8 — Amanah president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu today dismissed speculation that the party’s sole assemblyman in Negeri Sembilan could be elevated to the menteri besar post.
He affirmed that Amanah remains aligned with the current state leadership and is not involved in any move to replace Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun who is from PKR.
“No way Amanah will lead the ‘tebuk atap’ in Negeri Sembilan. The menteri besar Negeri Sembilan is currently Datuk Aminuddin. There will be no other menteri besar apart from PKR, from Pakatan Harapan apart from Datuk Aminuddin.
“And Amanah’s sole elected representative in Negeri Sembilan must support Datuk Aminuddin. Full stop,” Mohamad, who is also better known as Mat Sabu, said in a Facebook reel posted this morning.
He stressed that Amanah rejects any attempt to form a government through backdoor manoeuvres or as he said in Malay ‘tebuk atap’, describing such efforts as contrary to the party’s principles.
Amanah’s position, he added, is to support cooperation within the unity government framework and focus on delivering for Negeri Sembilan residents.
