KUALA LUMPUR, April 3 — Train services on the Kelana Jaya LRT line were disrupted this evening following a passenger incident at Abdullah Hukum station, prompting an emergency shutdown and rescue response.
Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd said the incident occurred at 6.09pm, confirming that “an incident occurred involving a passenger at Abdullah Hukum Station”.
“As a safety measure, operations personnel deactivated the power supply at the station to allow the Police, Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), and ambulance teams at the scene to carry out rescue operations,” the operator said in a statement.
Services between Universiti, Kerinchi and Abdullah Hukum stations were temporarily suspended, affecting commuters during the evening peak period.
“Alternative transport services, including free shuttle bus services, have been activated to support operations,” Rapid Rail said.
Passengers requiring assistance were advised to approach station staff and auxiliary police at the affected stations, while updates would be shared via Rapid KL’s social media platforms and station announcements.
“Rapid Rail will cooperate with the authorities to investigate the incident,” it added, apologising to passengers for the disruption and delays.
