IPOH, Aug 16 — Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohammad today said that the outcome of the six state elections did not have any effect on Perak or at the Federal level.

Saarani described the recent statement by Perak Opposition leader Razman Zakaria’s that Perikatan Nasional and PAS is willing to work with Umno in Perak to form a Malay-Islam dominance government following the outcome of six state election as ‘naughty’.

“Perikatan Nasional (PN) won three states and Unity Government won three states. Even if PN had won all six states, the formation of Federal government is by the MPs and not by state assemblymen.

“And the formation of Perak government is only by the Perak assemblymen. So we don’t have any connection with other states,” he told a press conference after attending the Programme Mesra Hari Bertemu Pelanggan at the Stadium Indera Mulia here.

Saarani also gave the assurance that the Perak government will stable and will not be seeing any changes.

“Yesterday, I have met all nine Umno assemblymen in Perak and tomorrow I will be meeting all 59 state assemblymen.

“I can assured there will not be any changes in the state. So those businesses and investors who want to invest in Perak don’t have to be worried,” he said.

Saarani also told Razman, who is the Perak PAS commissioner, to allow the Unity Government to finish its term in governing the state and let the people decide in the next general election.

Yesterday, Razman in his Facebook posting urge Umno leaders, especially in the states where Malay-Islam dominance government can be formed, to accept the wave and signal given by the people in the outcome of the six state election, where the Malay and some non-Malay voters rejects the Unity government.

“The seat position in Negeri Sembilan is similar to the composition in Perak. Both states can form the Malay-Islam government.

“The same seat position can also be seen in Pahang and even at the Federal level. Umno can now be the ‘king maker’ determining the position of Malay power or vice versa,” he said.
