KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 6 — Local pollster Endeavor-MGC (EMGC) has found that 70 per cent of 1,068 marginal seat respondents made of up all races in Selangor said they were unaware of any policy or initiative undertaken by the government to curb inflation or reduce the cost of living.

Based on the survey findings, EMGC also found that 32 per cent of respondents in Malay marginal seats in Selangor also said the same thing.

Only 30 per cent of respondents from all races and 32 per cent of Malay respondents said that they know of the policies implemented by the government, EMGC said.

The survey, which took a stratified random sampling approach, was conducted from July 22 to 28 involving 1,068 respondents who are registered voters in 34 state assembly seats.

Meanwhile, 54 per cent of registered voters of all races from the marginal seats said they were very concerned about the effect of inflation on personal finances, while 41 per cent were moderately concerned and 5 per cent slightly concerned.

Having similar concerns were 56 per cent of respondents in Malay marginal seats who admitted they were worried about the effect of inflation on their personal finances.

According to EMGC, 40 per cent were moderately concerned and another 4 per cent were slightly concerned about the effect of inflation on personal finances.

No respondents from marginal seats of various races and respondents from Malay marginal seats stated that they were not concerned and did not know the issue.
