KUALA LUMPUR, March 23 — The National Action Plan for Senior Citizens (NAPSrC) is being reviewed to strengthen the aspects of the care and welfare of the group with Malaysia becoming an ageing nation by 2030, the Dewan Negara was told today.

Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said in view of that, the ministry will seek the views and input from relevant agencies for the formulation of the 2023-2030 NAPSrC.

“In line with current and future needs, the National Policy for Senior Citizens (DWEN) and NAPSrC are the government’s commitment to creating independent, dignified and respected senior citizens by optimising their potential through healthy, positive, active, productive and supportive aging to improve their well-being,” she said,

She was responding to a supplementary question from Senator Datuk Dominic Lau Hoe Chai during the oral question and answer session.
