ISKANDAR PUTERI, March 16 — Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Almarhum Sultan Iskandar today expressed satisfaction with the work of Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi and the state government exco line-up.

The Ruler, who has been supervising their work, described their performance as good.

“Although some are less experienced, they have worked hard and demonstrated their skills.

“If they do not understand something, they can come to me and ask me. The state administration officials are also there to help manage all tasks and coordinate all programmes,” Sultan Ibrahim said when opening the first meeting of the second session of the 15th Johor State Legislative Assembly here today.

Sultan Ibrahim also praised the state government’ for having sound financial management practices and being free from large amounts of debt.

“Well done to the state government for recording a revenue surplus last year... although the surplus is not too much, at least we (the state) have not spent more than our revenue,” His Majesty said.

“Every department must also follow instructions to spend prudently and ensure all procurement is transparent, conscientious, and carried out according to the concept of ‘value for money’,” Sultan Ibrahim reminded.

The Ruler also hopes that the stable political situation in Johor will be maintained and that all parties will work together for the benefit of the people and the state. — Bernama
