PUTRAJAYA, March 9 — Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin does not think his Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin will be arrested today by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
Hamzah was among the senior party leaders and supporters who showed up outside the MACC headquarters here to express solidarity with Muhyiddin this morning. He believes Muhyiddin did not commit any offence that warrants an arrest.
“I feel he won't be arrested today and hopefully, I pray for this, hopefully he will be released this afternoon after giving his testimony.
“However it will be up to the MACC if they want to arrest him not.
“We have had discussions with him last night and he is ready to cooperate and will be able to answer whatever questions the MACC ask,” Hamzah, who is Bersatu secretary-general, told reporters outside the MACC building here.
Muhyiddin has been called in for questioning over his party's spending during the 15th general elections.
He arrived at 11.15am this morning for questioning and was greeted by a throng of supporters.
