KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 19 — DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke today said that in the upcoming state elections, DAP should get to contest all state seats it previously won in Negeri Sembilan, as should all other parties in the Pakatan Harapan (PH)-Barisan Nasional (BN) alliance.

Anthony, who is also DAP Negeri Sembilan chief, pointed out that DAP had won the 11 state seats it has there since the 2013 state election, and that during the 15th general election, DAP had won the majority of votes in the corresponding constituencies.

“We are not greedy, we are not asking for additional seats either, we just want to defend the seats we already have,” he said after the party’s state convention here today.

Loke stressed that his suggestion for each party to defend its own seats is only for Negeri Sembilan, and that the other states’ DAP divisions will be using their own methods for seat negotiations.

He, however, said that the Negeri Sembilan negotiations will be left to PH vice president and state Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.

“I trust in his wisdom to be able to handle all problems,” Loke said, adding that Aminuddin has a good relationship with Umno as the latter was a former Umno member.

He also said that he was not willing to pre-empt the reactions from other parties — such as MCA — and did not want to comment on if he or Aminuddin would be defending their seats.

In the state elections held in 2013 which was held at the same time as the 13th general elections, PH had bagged 20 seats, while BN won the remaining 16.

Loke is the incumbent for the Chennah state seat, while Aminuddin is the incumbent for the Sikamat state seat.
