KUALA TERENGGANU, Jan 13 ― The federal government should get agencies under the state government involved in distributing aid to flood victims, said Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar.

Ahmad Samsuri said the move was to avoid overlapping in aid distribution through coordination of work between the federal and state government agencies.

He said that the central government's decision to completely leave the task and methods of distributing flood relief to the Federal Development Department (JPP) without involving the agencies under the state government will create problems and the flood victims will suffer.

"We understand that in dealing with the flood victims, there are things that require cooperation between the state and central governments. In this way, harmony can prevail and there is no overlap of assistance to the victims,” he told reporters at the Terengganu’s Polygon Cycling Team (TSG) 2023 riders and sponsors introduction ceremony last night.
