KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 10 — PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang has predicted that Perikatan Nasional (PN) will have a “total win” in all the states controlled by the coalition this year.

He said that his prediction of the “green wave’s” success was based on a post-mortem conducted by PN on the results of the 15th general election last November.

“We had a clean sweep in the states which we govern... It shows that we have the strength and the success of this wave will continue,” he said in the video of a joint news conference with PN partner Gerakan in Penang last night that was posted on his Facebook page only this morning.

PN won all 14 parliamentary seats in Kelantan and all eight in Terengganu in the November 19, 2022 federal polls.

In Kedah, PN won 14 federal seats out of 15.

The remaining one — Sungai Petani — went to PKR’s Mohammed Taufiq Johari, who contested under the Pakatan Harapan logo.

Hadi added that for the state elections, approximately 80 per cent of seat negotiations within PN had concluded.

PN currently comprises three parties: PAS, Gerakan, and Bersatu.

Penang, Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu are due to hold their state elections this year.

On a separate matter, when asked what had been discussed at the Gerakan and PAS meet yesterday, Hadi replied: “Islamophobia”.

“It is purposely being brought up by enemies that are uncomfortable with the peace in our country... a plural society that lives in harmony with one another,” he said.
