KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 26 — Former Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin has moved his Umno membership from Rembau to Sungai Buloh, where he contested in the 15th general election (GE15).
In a TikTok video posted to the Barisan Nasional (BN) Sungai Buloh account, the former health minister announced at an event in Sungai Buloh that his name in the Umno membership system has now been placed under the location.

"What is important, as I have said before, is I came here not only to compete (in GE15) and I will not lose and disappear — no.
"I will remain here until we win the Sungai Buloh Parliamentary seat,” he said, to applause from his audience.
He labelled himself a perfectionist, saying that when he loses, he is the type of person to keep going until he wins.
"It is also not fair to you ladies and gentlemen that I came here as a parachute candidate, a last-minute candidate, a high-profile candidate, and then upon not winning I turn tail and find another place,” he added.
Khairy said he had discussed the matter with the head of Umno's Sungai Buloh division, Datuk Megat Firdouz and Megat’s deputy, Datuk Harrison Hassan, whom he described as his friends.
He said that the pair told him to "please come” when he approached them for their views on the matter.
"On the issue of choosing (a candidate for the next general election), we will discuss as brothers what to do,” he said.
He expressed his belief that Sungai Buloh could eventually become a stronghold for BN.
"If we are always comfortable, always winning, never having to face challenges, then we cannot become a great fighter.
"I feel that we can make Sungai Buloh into a BN stronghold, God willing,” he said.
In GE15, Khairy lost the Sungai Buloh Parliamentary seat to Pakatan Harapan’s Datuk R. Ramanan by a slim margin of 2,693 votes.
