MELAKA, Dec 13 — Bemban assemblyman Dr Mohd Yadzil Yaakub, who is also Melaka Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman, is the new Opposition leader in Melaka state legislative assembly.
He takes over from Bukit Katil assemblyman Adly Zahari who was appointed as Deputy Defence Minister.
“We will be a more effective opposition so that we can provide a check and balance to the government to guarantee the well-being of the people,” he told reporters here today.
The Melaka assembly has 28 seats with 21 held by Barisan Nasional, Pakatan Harapan (five) and PN (two). — AFP
