KUALA TERENGGANU, Dec 6 — Terengganu is open to discussion with other states to hold their state elections simultaneously to save cost, says Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar.

He also said at the moment no formal discussions have been held among the six states involved namely Terengganu, Kelantan, Kedah, Selangor, Negri Sembilan and Penang

However, he said there were casual discussions regarding the matter.

“We will try to find the time and place for a formal discussion to synchronise the dissolution of the state assemblies,” he said to reporters after an event at Wisma Darul Aman here today.

Selangor, Penang and Negri Sembilan are led by Pakatan Harapan (PH) while Kedah, Terengganu and Kelantan are under PAS’ administration.

The six states did not dissolve their respective state assemblies which would enable state elections to be held simultaneously with the 15th general election (GE15) last Nov 19. — Bernama
