KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 24 — Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has thanked all those who left positive comments on his Facebook post in reaction to a statement issued by the party’s supreme council this morning.

In the Facebook post, Zahid told Umno supporters to ignore uninvited comments that appear to want to incite hatred, cause tension among party members, and contain false allegations.

“Thank you for your supportive comments, my friends. My apologies, I can’t reply to everyone individually.

“Ignore uninvited guests’ comments that have the intention of spreading hatred, deceiving with false accusations, and causing tension among us.

“If Satan did not exist, all human beings would go to heaven, as our faith and patience would not be tested.

“Forgive them and pray that they will receive guidance,” he said.

In a statement released earlier today, Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan said the party had decided to support and participate in a unity government that is not led by Perikatan Nasional (PN).

He also said that the party’s supreme council has unanimously decided to support and uphold the order of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to ensure that a stable and prosperous government can be formed.

In addition, Ahmad said the supreme council agreed that all representatives of the party who won parliamentary seats in the 15th general election will obey and accept any form of unity government or other form of government that the Agong announces.
