KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 24 — The latest stand by Perikatan Nasional (PN) is that that it will now consider forming a unity government, said secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin.
The Bersatu MP said that the coalition’s supreme council made the decision in their special meeting today.
“The meeting agreed to consider the proposal to form a unity government that involves discussions among the parties who are in agreement for the wellbeing of the people and the stability of the nation,” he said.
On Tuesday, PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said that the Agong had asked PN and Pakatan Harapan to form a unity government due to a deadlock between parties which saw no majority reached, after the 15th general election ended inconclusively on Saturday.
Muhyiddin said that he had disagreed and stated that the coalition would stick to its stand of not working with PH “whatever the reason”.
