KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 3 — Malaysia recorded 5,291 new cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the cumulative total to 2,486,630, according to Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

This was marginally higher than the 5,071 cases yesterday.

In the last seven days, the country’s new Covid-19 infections have ranged from as high as 6,377 (October 28) cases to as low as 4,626 (November 1).

Malaysia also recorded 4,947 new recoveries today, with cumulative recoveries now at 2,390,379 or 96.1 per cent of total Covid-19 cases.

Based on today’s new infections, out 1.4 per cent or 75 cases are Category 3, 4 and 5.

Currently, there are also 546 cases being treated in the intensive care unit, of which 286 require breathing aid.

In terms of Covid-19 clusters, the Ministry of Health recorded 390 active clusters, with seven new clusters detected in the last 24 hours.

This brings the cumulative clusters recorded since the pandemic began to 5,788.
