PARIT, Sept 1 — A security guard allegedly shot by a colleague, was found dead at the guard house of a drug manufacturing factory in Taman Farmasi, Seri Iskandar, last night.

The victim, Masri Anak Pandak, a 37-year-old Orang Asli, was found lying down with a wound in the chest, believed to be from a gun that was shot at close range at about 8pm.

Perak Tengah Police chief Supt Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said the police were informed of the incident by another colleague of the victim at 8.25pm.

He was allegedly shot by a colleague, the main suspect in the case, who had since gone into hiding, he said last night.

The police are now looking for the 52-year-old suspect, he said adding that a casing and bullet were found at the scene.

“Initial investigation showed that the incident might have occurred because of personal problems, but investigations are still ongoing.

“We are also looking into the closed circuit television (CCTV) in the factory to assist in our investigation,” he said. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code. — Bernama
