MELAKA, May 25 — Only 34 out of 314 resort and hotel kitchens in Melaka have obtained recognised halal certification, according to Melaka Islamic Religious Department (Jaim) director Md Azhan Samat.

“Only the resort and hotel kitchens with recognised halal certification are allowed to use the ‘Ramadan Buffet’ tagline to avoid doubt among Muslims.

“We hope that more resort and hotel operators in the state will obtain the halal certification from Jaim’s Halal Management Division as soon as possible to avoid doubt among Muslims, including tourists from within and outside the country,” he told Bernama.
