KUALA LUMPUR, May 18 — The normally quiet and exclusive Jalan Taman Duta neighbourhood faced a mild traffic congestion today, partially due to the number of cars parked by the side of the road, coupled with Friday prayers traffic.
The vehicles primarily belong to members of the media who are on stakeout at former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak's abode. The media have been camping out here since Wednesday night when the police first raided Najib's home.
As the Pekan MP was leaving to perform his Friday prayers at PWTC earlier, his escorts had to block the Jalan Langgak Duta-Jalan Taman Duta cross junction to allow his convoy passage.
Najib left to perform his religious obligations at around 12.50pm.
The media on the other hand could be seen loitering around the location, waiting for any interesting updates to occur while hogging the barricaded entry into Jalan Langgak Duta each time a visitor or vehicle enters the cordoned area.
Roughly 30 to 40 members of the media have flooded the normally prestigious locale.
So far, only a few visitors could be seen leaving and entering Najib's private residence including former education minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid, former minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said and a female supporter.
