He announced his entry at an event to celebrate his victory in the polls with the locals in Sentul here.

“I will discuss with my lecturer and counsellors and will then make a decision. I am happy of my victory but now I am more focused. I can’t be over excited because then I won’t be able to think straight,” he told reporters at the event.

Prabakaran said he will soon have a discussion with Chua on the direction and plans he has as the new representative for the constituency.

The announcement of his entry to the party was made by the PKR vice-president, who said he will give his support as part of his service to the people.

“I will give my assistance and guidance to ensure my service would be continued,” Chua said.

“Prabakaran had submitted the form to join the party and I highly welcome his membership. I wish him the best in politics and hope this will encourage more youth to enter politics.”

Prabakaran had contested as an independent in a four-cornered fight against Barisan Nasional candidate Datuk Dr Dominic Lau, PAS candidate Azhar Yahya, and another independent candidate Datuk Panjamorthy Muthusamy.

He won with a 24,438-majority votes and become the youngest MP in Malaysia at the age of 22 and 3 months.
