PUTRAJAYA, Oct 9 — Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor today opened the Seri Ehsan Bridge which connects Precinct 4 to 19 here over a section of the Putrajaya Lake.
The bridge will be opened to traffic tomorrow.
Tengku Adnan said the bridge, the ninth in Putrajaya, was designed to be an alternative route that could reduce travel time in getting into the Putrajaya Core Business District located in Precincts 1 to 5.
“The bridge can indirectly disperse traffic and reduce congestion,” he said.
Construction of the RM68.5-million bridge began on October 15, 2015, and was completed on June 30 this year. It is 280 metres long and 35 metres wide and has six lanes, three on either side leading to and leaving Precinct 4, he said.
“The bridge is nine metres above the water level and allows for tour boats to pass underneath,” said Tengku Adnan, who is the MP for Putrajaya. — Bernama
