SINGAPORE, Aug 19 — Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) and Malaysia’s MyHSR Corporation (MyHSR) will be calling for a tender on Monday (Aug 22) to appoint a Joint Development Partner in the development of the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore high-speed rail project, a press release said today.
The Joint Development Partner (JDP) is expected to provide project management support, technical advice and procurement advice relating to the high speed railway systems and operations. In addition, the JDP will also develop the technical and safety standards to be adopted for the project and assist with the preparation of documents for the forthcoming tenders relating to the joint aspects of the project.
The tender is open to firms that have advised on large public private partnership infrastructure projects, including HSR projects of similar size and complexity, or firms with experience in providing project management, technical, commercial or legal advisory services relating to HSR and/or rail projects with more than 200km of track.
Interested parties should visit MyHSR’s website or LTA’s website for more information from August 22.
On July 19, Singapore and Malaysia signed a memorandum of understanding, with seven points of agreement, on the development of the HSR. As part of the next phase in project preparations, the Malaysian and Singaporean governments tasked MyHSR, a company wholly owned by the Minister of Finance Incorporated in Malaysia, and the LTA, respectively, to implement the project.
The HSR is expected to cut land travel time between the two cities to 90 minutes. The targeted role out date is 2026. ― TODAY
