KOTA BARU, May 12 — An owner of a frozen food processing plant filed a police report yesterday after finding out his company’s name, ‘My Freedom Life Sdn Bhd’, was used by certain parties in a get-rich-quick scheme.
Saiful Bahari Othman, 45, said he learned about the matter a few days ago, when his employees saw the advertisement on Facebook and WhatsApp.
“My company sells frozen food such as ‘lamb chop’ and ‘chicken chop’ to the local market, as well as (exported) to China.
“Strangely enough, the advertisements on social media involved the sale Global Positioning System (GPS) devices for vehicles, and what’s most surprising is they also advertised a get-rich-quick scheme by collecting money from the public,” he told reporters here, today.
Saiful Bahari lodged a police report at Kota Baru district police headquarters. The advertisements had gone viral in the past few days.
The entrepreneur was concerned that there may be unscrupulous people who were trying to sabotage his business, which was established in 2013.
“So far, many people have called me, hurling threats and curses. I believe they are victims of fraud, and I have been made the scapegoat.
“I hope the irresponsible parties stop their actions, because I will not remain silent, and hope the police can track them down,” he added. — Bernama
