GEORGE TOWN, June 12 — How would you like to don the costume of your favourite superhero and join a team just like DC comics’ Justice League?
Interested families can do so this August 30 by participating in Malaysia’s first-ever DC Justice League Run that will take place in Penang.
The run is a themed event where participants are given superhero t-shirts complete with capes and masks to run in.
Registration for the run, in two categories of 3km or 8km, is now open until July 12.
Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, who announced the event at his office today, said the event is jointly organised by the Penang Global Tourism and ActifeStyle, and supported by the state.
“This is the first ever branded DC Justice League run in Malaysia and it is in Penang,” he said.
Participation fee is RM100 per person and each participant will be entitled to a superhero t-shirt, a mask or cape, a medal and a participation certificate.
There are five different superhero t-shirts to choose from; Superman, Batman, The Flash, Green Lantern and Wonderwoman.
The event will flag off at 6am at the Esplanade and end at noon. Participants can collect their running kit at St Jo’s Gurney Paragon between August 27 and 29.
In conjunction with the event, there will also be a DC Super Heroes Weekend in Penang at Gurney Paragon between August 27 and 31.
Those who dressed as any of the five superheroes during that weekend will be entitled to special promotions at participating outlets in Gurney Paragon.
