KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 22 — Slow traffic flow has been reported on major highways as city folks return home after the Chinese New Year break.
A spokesman for the Traffic Control Centre of Plus Expressways Berhad said in the north, the traffic flow was slow moving from Perai heading towards Penang and from Bandar Baharu towards Jawi.
“Traffic congestion was reported from Bukit Berapit to Kuala Kangsar and from Kuala Kangsar to Sungai Perak. The slow traffic flow was also occurred at Kuala Kangsar route heading to Bukit Berapit,” he told Bernama today.
Congestion also occurred on the south at Hentian Pedas Linggi towards Seremban, and from Bukit Gambir heading towards Yong Peng.
“The traffic was also slow moving from Yong Peng towards Ayer Hitam, and from Sedenak towards Kulai Jaya,” he added.
Meanwhile, a Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA) spokesman reported traffic congestion from Karak Toll Plaza to Bukit Tinggi and from Gombak Toll Plaza towards Kuala Lumpur.
On the East Coast Expressway 2, traffic was slow moving from Cheneh, Kemaman to Jabor Toll Plaza,” he said.
