BALIK PULAU, Jan 20 — The case of four individuals who allegedly participated in a ‘nude sports fest’ at Teluk Kampi, Penang National Park in Teluk Bahang near here last year, has been fixed for re-mention on March 19.

Magistrate Nurul Rasyidah Mohd Akit set the date after counsel V. Parthipan requested for a new date to enable the defence to study a video which it only recently obtained from the prosecution.

The lawyer who is representing one of the accused, Teh Guan Hoon, disclosed this to reporters when met outside the court.

On August 28, last year, three women, Chew Tok Hwa, 57; Chan Chia Wen, 27; Teh, 37; and a man, Kong Meng Leong, 38, claimed trial to causing public annoyance with their nudity at Pantai Teluk Kampi between 3 pm and 6 pm on May 30, last year.

The charge under Section 294(a) of the Penal Code and punishable under Section 294 of the same code, carries a jail term of three months or a fine, or both, upon conviction.

The four allegedly committed the offence with six others, Loh Kok Hong, 41; Mu Wai Peng, 34; Justin Ang Ji Keng, 24; Yam Kam Hoong, 54; Lionel Loo Joo Heng, 52; and R. Nanda Kumar, 40.

The six had since pleaded guilty and were imposed a fine of RM5,000 and one month’s jail, each.
