BESUT, Oct 28 — A 62-year-old taxi driver was hurt in the head after he was slashed by his stepson with a cleaver by the roadside in Kampung Seberang Kastam here at 4.20pm on Sunday.
Before the incident, the taxi driver’s ex-wife, in her 50s, and the stepson, 36, had failed to get back RM4,000 he had borrowed from her.
A quarrel then broke out following which the victim who refused to bother about the demands from his ex-wife drove his taxi in the direction of Kampung
Raja but stopped by the side of the road at Kampung Seberang Kastam to rest.
Not long after that, the stepson of the victim together with another person approached the victim and slashed his head with a cleaver.
Members of the public who saw the incident rushed the victim to the Besut District Hospital for treatment at the Emergency Unit.
Besut District Acting Police Chief DSP Noor Halim Nordin when contacted on the incident confirmed receiving a report from the victim, Ali Mat Diah, who was from Kuala Besut.
However, he said so far no arrests have been made and police were still conducting an investigation. — Bernama
