KUALA LUMPUR, March 10 — The British Council is offering a three month internship with Astro Awani for the winner of its ‘Journalism for Social Good’ competition.

Video enthusiasts and budding journalists are invited to join this video journalism competition by submitting an English short essay no less than 50 words on ‘Why are they interested in video journalism?’ by Monday, March 17, 2014 to [email protected].

“10 teams will be shortlisted and invited to attend an exclusive three-day training workshop with leading UK social enterprise online news organisation, Pioneers Post, who will assist teams in adding breadth and depth to their video journalism knowledge.

“They will proceed to produce a video story focusing on local social entrepreneurs as part of the competition where the winning team can look forward to a three month internship with leading broadcast news agency, Astro Awani,” said British Council in a statement.

This competition is open to Malaysian citizens aged 21-30 years where teams must consist of two members.
