PETALING JAYA, Feb 18 — A woman, suspected to have been physically abused by her boyfriend, died at the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) early today.

Pakizah Raja Khan, 27, succumbed to head and body injuries at 1.41am.

The police have classified the case as murder.

Initial police investigations revealed the victim, who worked at a bank call centre, was physically abused by the boyfriend at the Lagoon Perdana in Bandar Sunway here last night.

Pakizah was then found groaning in pain at the boyfriend's house in Bandar Sunway before she was sent to the UMMC where she died shortly after.

According to Subang Jaya police chief ACP Yahaya Ramli, Pakizah's aunt had received a telephone call from the boyfriend to go to his house in Bandar Sunway.

“Upon arrival at the man's house about 12.10am, the victim was found groaning in pain,” he told Bernama.

He said the aunt then lodged a police report and sent Pakizah to the UMMC.

Yahya said the police were looking for a 30-year-old suspect to facilitate investigations into the murder.

Meanwhile, Pakizah's mother, Maimunah Abdullah, 49, when met by reporters at the hospital, said her daughter who worked at a bank call centre had befriended a man last year. — Bernama
