KEMAMAN, Jan 12 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak arrived here today to join the Terengganu-level Flood Aid Presentation and Celebration of Flood Volunteers Programme.

The helicopter bringing the prime minister landed at Stadium Mak Chili here at 9.45am.

On hand to welcome him were Terengganu Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Said and Kemaman Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek, who is also communication and multimedia minister. 

The prime minister was then brought to Padang Astaka, Chukai here where more than 15,000 people were waiting to welcome him.

Najib then helped to hand over aid to 600 families who were badly affected by the floods that hit the district last month.

They are among more than 14,000 families affected by the Northeast Monsoon floods in Terengganu.

Najib is scheduled to return to Kuala Lumpur at around mid-day today. — Bernama
