ALOR SETAR, Jan 1 — Parents can seek advice and detailed information on the status of students’ entry into Form One online.

Deputy Education Minister P. Kamalanathan said the online registration system was introduced last year for entry into fully-residential schools and controlled schools namely Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama (SMKA), Sekolah Agama Bantuan Kerajaan (SABK) and religious stream schools.

He said several technical problems had cropped up since the new system was launched but the ministry was endeavouring to resolve them.

“We received numerous complaints from parents and hope that they will be patient. At the same time, parents can obtain information at the District Education Office,” he told reporters after visiting Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil Barathy, Jalan Stadium here, today.

Kamalanathan said among the dissatisfactions of the parents concerning the online system was because the offer letter was not the same as the application to enter the school selected.

He also visited Sekolah Kebangsaan Sultanah Asma, Jalan Langgar and Sekolah Kebangsaan Jenis Cina (SJKC) Pumpong, here to look for himself at the requirements of these schools. — Bernama
