KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 28 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today said that the government has set a target to open 50 1 Malaysia People’s Textile Stores (KKR1M) next year.
“We aim for 50 KKR1M next year, Insya-Allah (God willing),” Najib (picture) said on Twitter today in response to the Bernama’s report titled ‘KKR1M Semakin Mendapat Sambutan’ (KKR1M Gaining Popularity as the People’s Choice) dated December 26.
In the report, KKR1M managing director Mohd Noor Mohd Amin was quoted as saying that the KKR1M, which is one of the 1Malaysia brand products, was gaining popularity as the people’s choice for quality textiles at affordable prices.
Mohd Noor said they were also planning to open more KKR1M branches to meet the rising demands.
At present, there are 19 KKR1M branches nationwide, with the recently opened one in Kuala Pilah, Negri Sembilan. New branches are also expected to open in Grik, Perak and Dungun, Terengganu, raising the total to 25 branches overall this year. — Bernama
