KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 13 — The leader of a visiting Chinese delegation has praised Malaysia as a Southeast Asian nation excelling in the administrative, political and social aspects.
Li Shishi, Chairman of the Legislative Affairs Commission of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), made the statement when the delegation called on Dewan Negara President Tan Sri Abu Zahar Ujang at Parliament House today.
Abu Zahar conveyed this to reporters after the six-member delegation called on him as part of efforts to step up bilateral relations between China and Malaysia.
He said the Chinese delegation shared information on the legal system in China and the role of the committee.
He also said that the delegation expressed interest in emulating Malaysia in several areas, including the tackling of social problems. — Bernama
