KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 27 — Technical glitches plaguing the mySIKAP online transaction system used by the Road Transport Department (RTD) since November 1 will be resolved soon.
Acting Transport Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein (picture) said the JPJ should not be blamed for the slow system due to technical glitches as it is at trial stage.
“We will try to overcome weaknesses via discussion with IBM Malaysia on how how to upgrade the capacity of the mainframe. This will ensure smooth running of the system.
“It is not the fault of anyone. The system itself needs upgrading,” he told a press conference in the parliament lobby, here today.
Meanwhile, RTD director-general Datuk Ismail Ahmad said the capacity of mySIKAP was found wanting and this slowed down the system.
He said measures are being undertaken to stabilise mySIKAP and the system is expected to be fully recovered by year-end. — Bernama
