In the 8.30pm incident, the male suspect, who was driving a Toyota Wish multi-purpose vehicle with a woman passenger inside, rammed into a police patrol car and fired several shots at it before speeding off.

A team from the Sentul CID helped to chase the duo down to Lorong 3, Taman Titiwangsa where the Toyota Wish crashed.

“The woman, 21, was detained in the car last night but the man, 22, managed to escape. He was caught at about 9.30 this morning at a public housing area,” Kuala Lumpur CID chief Datuk Ku Chin Wah said in a statement here today.

He said police had also fired a shot in the suspect’s direction during the chase, which had hit his back.

The suspect has been warded for treatment at the Selayang Hospital, he added.
