KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 22 — The government is committed to providing facilities and incentives to help entrepreneurs and eradicate poverty irrespective of race, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

He said that as a leader, he had a responsibility to ensure their (entrepreneurs) development and that poverty eradication initiatives were comprehensive for all.

“I understand, more than 12,000 Indian entrepreneurs have already received loans from from Tekun (economic fund for small businesses) valued at RM153.9 million to be used in their development efforts, as of last October.

“The government has always been sensitive about the welfare of the Indian community in the country and has extended facilities and come up with initiatives to help them, especially the poor,” he said.
