KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 20 — Broadband is no longer a luxury but an urban and rural necessity in this digital era, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak posted on Twitter today.

“In this digital era the broadband is no longer a luxury. It has become a necessity both in urban and rural areas,” he said. 

Najib (picture) was commenting on Bernama’s news link titled “Malaysia Wants to Improve Broadband Quality Especially in Rural Areas”.     

The report quoted Minister of Communications and Multimedia, Ahmad Shabery Cheek as saying, Malaysia was not only targeting for a 100 per cent broadband coverage but also aiming for the enhancement of quality in services, especially in the rural areas. — Bernama
