GEORGE TOWN, Nov 18 — About 10 minutes after two youths snatched a woman’s handbag in Jalan Tingkat Bukit Belah, Bayan Lepas this morning, the police nabbed the suspects.
The suspects who were on a motorcycle could not get far as a passer-by alerted the police that they were making a getaway with the stolen handbag.
The incident occurred about 9.30am when the victim, who works at a factory, was walking towards a bus-stand.
Southwest police chief Supt Mohd Hatta Mohd Zain said the suspects, aged 21 and 27, were remanded until November 24 to facilitate investigations.
He said a pen-knife, knuckle-duster and several pliers were found on the suspects. — Bernama
