KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 18 — The right-most lane along the Sprint Highway (PJ-bound) will be closed for one year until November 16, 2014 to facilitate preparatory work for the construction of Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) piers.
Its Director of Strategic Communications and Public Relations Amir Mahmood Razak said this 850-metre closure stretch starts at the flyover at Maarof interchange (PJ-bound), ending before the exit to Jalan Batai Barat.
He said two lanes will be available for motorist at Sprint Highway during the one-year closure.
“A trial closure of the same stretch was conducted extensively for two weeks since October 24 with Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia (LLM),” he said in a statement, here today.
He added the one-year lane closure has no impact on PJ-bound traffic at Sprint Highway and MRT Corp will take the necessary measures to ensure that public safety is not compromised.
For more information on traffic diversion, the public can visit the MRT website at www.mrt.com.my or www.mymrt-underground.com.my, twitter @MRTMalaysia or twitter @MyMRT Underground or call the MRT Hotline at 1-800-82-6868. — Bernama
