KUALA TERENGGANU, 18 Nov — Police who detained the mother of the allegedly abused three-year-old Putri Nur Qistina Balqis Abdullah who died at the Besut Hospital on Friday, have decided to remand her for four days.
Terengganu CID chief ACP K. Manoharan said the 23-year-old single mother was detained at 4.30pm right after her daughter’s funeral in Pasir Mas, Kelantan today.
The victim, from Kampung Seberang Jertih, was admitted to the Jerteh Hospital on Friday but the girl from Kampung Seberang Jerteh died at 8pm while doctors found bruises on the head and wounds on her body during the post-mortem.
Suspecting abuse, a medical assistant at the hospital then lodged a police report. — Bernama
